How can I be sure I’m pregnant?

A positive pregnancy test alone should never be used in determining an abortion decision, as about 1 in 4 pregnancies, or up to 25% end in miscarriage. Additionally, some pregnancies occur outside of the uterus, also known as an ectopic pregnancy, and due to these potential complications, you may not need to have an abortion.

We offer FDA-approved, laboratory-quality pregnancy tests. If your test is positive, you can be evaluated by one of our medical professionals to receive confirmation of pregnancy by ultrasound – all at no cost to you. The ultrasound is necessary to confirm a viable uterine pregnancy, cardiac activity, and how far along you are.

What type of abortion procedures would I have to use?

The abortion options that will be available to you are based on how far along you are in your pregnancy. This is determined by an ultrasound, which we do at no cost. Different types of abortion procedures include:

Methotrexate (MTX)
Abortion Pill / Mifeprex / Mifepristone (RU-486)
Suction Dilation and Curettage (Suction D&C)
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)
Intra-cardiac Injection

Already Decided to have an Abortion?

If you have already scheduled an abortion, for your health and safety, we would like to provide you with a list of your patient rights to discuss with your abortion provider prior to the procedure.
One of the services we offer at The Keim Centers is an ultrasound. This is to determine how far along you are so that you know what abortion options are available for you.

If you’ve had an ultrasound already, a lot can change from the time you’ve had one to now.

Making sure your pregnancy is viable is a crucial piece of information you need prior to making this decision. Our ultrasound can confirm this for you and rule out potential complications like miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.

Protecting your health is your responsibility, but we are here to help guide you.
